Lucky me…

Today is one of those days when I just sit back and think about how incredibly lucky I am. I have 6 beautiful, healthy children, a wonderful husband who loves and spoils me, a nice house to live in, etc…. I could go on. I am so blessed. We have had a really nice 3 day weekend together as a family. Didn’t do anything especially exciting, just spent time together. We cooked chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill this evening and ate outside in what my 4 & 3 year old munchkins refer to as ‘the clubhouse’. It is a canopy thing with netting around it. This one to be exact:canopy. The kids all love it when we eat outside. I held the baby in my lap while we ate, and she enjoyed being outside, never made a peep, just sat and looked around. She is almost 12 weeks old. Time flies so quickly! Here is a picture that I took of her a week or so ago: munchkin I have that picture as the background on my computer. I think it is so cute.

I was afraid tonight was going to be a disaster. While hubby was getting ready to start grilling I started feeling a migraine coming on. I haven’t had one in quite awhile, and it really came on quick and hard. I took an Imitrex, which didn’t seem to be working so well, so I took a hydrocodone and ran a hot bath. By the time hubby had everything ready to eat I was feeling so much better, thank God! I have suffered from migraines for many years now, but am lucky enough to at least get a break from them during my pregnancies. I haven’t had one since early on in my pregnancy, and it was so nice not having to deal with them. I am afraid that they are going to start coming on again. I may have to go back on Topamax everyday to try to reduce the number of them again.

Hubby and I are going to Vegas in 11 days! Woohoo! I love Vegas! We got 3 free nights at Bellagio.Bellagio Vegas
I am so looking forward to staying there! We have never stayed there before. The last few times we been to Vegas we have stayed at MGM Grand. It is a nice hotel/casino. The beds there are the most comfortable beds hubby and I have ever slept on! But I can’t wait to see the rooms at Bellagio! Hopefully I will come back with alot more money in my pocket than I’m leaving with!

Has been a pretty relaxing weekend so far. Last night, hubby and I, along with the youngest munchkin, went to a graduation party for my niece, Lindsey. She is graduating from high school in a week, along with my other niece, April. Man, do I feel old! April is the youngest of any of my siblings children. I remember watching her being born when I was only 17! And now she is graduating from high school! I am the youngest of 4 children. My brother is 11 years older than I am, my oldest sister is 9 years older, and my other sister is 7 years older. Both of my sisters are already grandmothers, having 2 grandchildren each. I have kids younger than my sisters’ grandkids! Lol. That seems so weird. But then, there is quite an age gap between my sisters and I.

Today was a lazy day at home. Hubby mowed the front and back yard(we got a notice from the home owners assoc. that our grass was getting too long). Then we had a water fight in the back yard with the kiddos. Everyone got drenched, but had lots of fun. Everyone came in, got dried off, and laid down in various spots around the house and napped. Looking forward to another day with the family tomorrow since its Memorial Day and everyone will be home again.

My first post….

Hello, and welcome! My name is Clara, and this is my blog. I am a 35 year old stay at home mom to 6(yes, SIX) kids. My husband and I have 5 daughters(ages 13, 8, 4, 3, and 2 months) and 1 son(age 10). I have thought many times about starting a blog, but figured I would have nothing interesting enough to write about that anyone would want to read. Well, everybody and their dog has a blog these days, right? Surely not everyone lives these incredibly exciting lives. If everyone else can do it, why can’t I? So, here I am.
